Kolectiv Monthly Recap — July 2022

--

Don’t have time to read every Kolectiv announcements and tweets recently? Here’s the monthly recap for July 2022 so you don’t miss anything.

Kolectiv Team Update

Previously the Community Coordinator for Kolex, Worth has transitioned into a new role as the Product Manager for Kolectiv, shifting his full attention to focus exclusively on the Kolectiv platform. This transition places Worth in a position to model & curate future drops on Kolectiv, manage artist & partner relations, and overall bring wonderful artwork to our lovely Kolectors.

The Burrow x Kolectiv Twitter Spaces & Allowlist Giveaway

In collaboration with The Burrow, we hosted a Twitter Spaces with their team to introduce collectors to their curated, themed NFT art collection with a similar blind-mint drop system as found on Kolectiv. The Burrow generously gave 10 allowlist spots to the Kolectiv community for their “pause” collection.

The Burrow is a South Asian artist collective, formed with a mission to help bring emerging artists into the spotlight and provide value to the community through theme-based curated drops like Pluralize, a 1/1 art collection, where art collectors can mint artwork across various genres of art, all conforming to a common theme during each drop.

Kolectiv Drop Themes & Collector Feedback Poll

As we’re focusing on ramping up the frequency of drops on the Kolectiv platform, we gathered opinions from the community on the themes that they’d like to see.

And the most popular voted theme?

Tarot cards!

This collection will feature 14–18 artists creating one of each of the “Major Arcana” cards found in a traditional deck of Tarot cards, with additional gamification elements including rare inserts, collection rewards, and a few new ideas we look forward to announcing soon! The Tarot collection is planned to drop in September, with the majority of artists selected & actively working on their contributions.

Lineup of Future Collections Announced

Our effort to push the frequency of Kolectiv drops continues with a public artist application for future drops. Here’s the current lineup of Kolectiv drops planned:

  • Tarot Cards: Artists design an assigned tarot card in their respective styles. Largely left to the artist to design based on a given card title, e.g. “The Empress” or “Death.”
  • Portraits: Each artist produces a self-portrait and/or a portrait of a notable person in the space. This can be a symbolic / figurative representation instead of a real-world identity.
  • Crypto 2022: This annual collection showcases many NFT artists and includes multiple subsets to highlight artists, projects, and general themes in the NFT & blockchain space.
  • Partner-curated collections: We continue to work with several partners to curate & release their own collections on the Kolectiv platform.
  • Artist Spotlights: An artist contributes multiple artworks and has a drop largely focused around their own art while featuring several of their peers in the space, making use of Kolectiv’s inherent added utility and its gamified environment to further incentivize collecting of their artwork.
